Travel Diaries (2) : Portugal

The second place I have visited recently is Portugal. I took a boat along the Douro River in the north of Portugal with my family for a week, which was a really great experience.

Although we spent our nights onboard, our days were spent exploring the shorelines of Portugal and the beautiful culture, sites and of course wine, they have to offer. Here are just a few pictures of sites and scenic views along the riverside.

A Sweet Summer

With new Romeo and Juliette film just released, I thought it would be the perfect time to post some sweet, summer love inspired photos I took a month or so ago. Big thank you to my friends Cerianne and Jack for modeling for me, and let me know what you think - I know many of you love seeing my photography!

Summer Gardens

For me, one the best perks of summer is that I am able to wear shorts everyday. I love these lace shorts for a slightly more feminine alternative to my usual lace shorts. I love wearing them with subtle printed T-shirts tucked in, such as this graphic tank with roses or even a stripped tee.

These pictures taken from a recent trip to some beautiful gardens in the north of Portugal - (Portugal travel diaries still to come!) The flowers, mazes and vineyards were absolutely beautiful!

Travel Diaries (1) : Barcelona

Many of you have probably noticed that I have been pretty m.i.a lately from the blogging world, so I thought I would give you a quick insight into where I have been and what I have been up to.

Just over three weeks ago I headed out to Barcelona with a few friends for six days. I don't know if it was the place or the company I was with specifically, but I had the most fun I have had in a long time. We spent our days wondering the Spanish streets, eating tapas and soaking up the sun on Barceloneta beach.

Our evenings on the other hand, were spent drinking Mojitos, letting go of everything in the world in evenings spent in Opium.

I had such a great time with these gorgeous girls, and I hope to return to this fantastic city at some point in the future.

Photography: Escaping Reality

Continuing on from the series of photos I posted last week, I thought I would showcase a few more from the series as I had such a great response. I titled this series, escaping reality as I wanted to capture the idea of a "dream-world," in a still image.

I would love to here your thoughts on these photos so please let me know!

The Graphic Tee

The graphic tee, has been everywhere in the fashion world this summer. After watching a recent video on Youtube by The Fashion Citizen, I was inspired to create my own DIY graphic T-shirt.
My last couple of DIYs have been very popular and I have been requested to continue making similar tutorial posts, so I thought I would share this simple DIY.

1 - You will need: a tshirt of your choice, scissors, a computer, a printer (although not in the image), and transfer paper. (I purchased my transfer paper from Amazon, although most craft shops also will supply it.

2 - Find the image you wish to use on your T-shirt (I chose a daisy), and print it out a number of times until you are happy with the size of the image in relation to the size of your top. I suggest printing the image out at this stage in draft mode in order to save ink.

3 - Follow the instructions on the back of your transfer paper (i.e: mirror the image/ do not mirror the image, type of printer setting etc...) Using the scissors cut out the image and place onto the T-shirt.

4 - Iron the image onto the T-shirt giving each area of the image at least 30 seconds of heat.

And here is the finished result - in my opinion is just as professional looking as the tops available in the shops. Be sure to send me a picture on Instagram @rachelsfashionpatch if you give this DIY a go!

I also drew, and printed this image of a pineapple onto a crop top for a gift for my best friend's birthday which is today. Happy birthday to my beautiful best friend Frances!

Summer Meadows

Hi everybody! So I have just returned from Barcelona, where I spent the last week. I had such a great time partying in the sun with three of my best friends (look forward to a post coming soon!) Today I thought I would share a post I tried to upload when I was away, however due to Internet complications where I was staying, this wasn't possible.

The other week I found this new field near my house that was completely filled with cow parsley. The wild and enchanting feel of the field summerised a perfect British summer. Finding this field has really inspired me to go for more explorations around where I live to see if there are more new and exciting scenes like this.
